Rest Week Prior to Starting Week 5 Lifting

So I’ve been busy and haven’t had time to post much on here. Had a week off from lifting (8 weeks on 1 week off… including the 4 weeks I took to get back in shape first).

Had a stroke of genius - I haven’t had access to dipping bars, but suddenly figured this out.

Fixing a couple of spare bars to the back of my bench gives me a functional set of bars to dip from. (As I use the free standing squat stands for flat and incline bench press now, the loss of the rack position on the bench doesn’t matter.) Also useful to hang from for knee and leg raises. The 2 new 20kg disks are working out well on the leg extension. Pretty soon I‘ll need a couple of 25s!

Gonna try taking a pre-workout carb/protein shake in addition to the post-workout one, see if that gives me that extra boost to go heavy during the actual lifting as well as filling that 30 minute window just after lifting when you need to replace glycogen and negate the catabolic state the body goes into.

I’ve stopped inputting measurement data into tictrac.com as it lost data randomly and I don’t trust it so much now. Seems OK for the data that comes in automatically from UP24 and MyFitnessPal apps though. Switched to Google docs for keeping measurement data as its been very reliable thus far and generates its own graphs from the table I’ve created.

Like I said, won’t be posting on here as much now, but that’s happened before and I came back more enthusiastically so - who knows.
